Having some kind of love note, or the couple's names etched onto your engagement/wedding is a traditional act that still trends today.
Some men engrave a personal message on the engagement ring for the proposal while a number of couples usually choose this extra personalised option when buying their wedding rings.
We sometimes get asked by clients what we think they should have as the engraving in their wedding rings. Its usually best when the message to be engraved is heartfelt, but a little inspiration never hurt anyone.
So, we decided to put together a list of ideas based on past demands from various clients:
1. Couple's names
Probably the most popular thing we engrave in wedding rings is the couple’s names e.g. “NATASHA & DAVID”, "EZINNE".
2. The classic date and name combo
Couple’s names and the date of their wedding, e.g. “Sophia & Femi 14/01/17”.
3. The declaration of love
“I will love you forever”, “Our love is endless” and a simple “I love you” are simple statements to underly the commitment of the exchange of rings.
You could also take this further by personalising it e.g. "I LOVE YOU VIVIAN"
4. The nicknames
We’ve seen “I love you babyboo”, “To my sugar cupcake, JESSICA”, “My spongebob squarepants”.
5. The song lyric
From “You don make me fall in love” to “Folake, give me love” – we’ve seen it all! We also get the odd quote from poetry and classic literature.
